What’s The Word? Top Ten Episodes of 2015
By Cheval John
2015 was a challenging and fun journey with my show, What’s The Word?
I had the opportunity to meet some of the employees of BlogTalkRadio at Podcast Movement in Fort Worth, Texas.
They shared about the evolution of their platform and how it will enhance the audio quality of podcasters who are using their service.
The best part was discovering the live streaming platform called Blab.im where anyone can showcase their expertise if they are entrepreneurs, marketers or even sportscasters.
And the fact that they send you audio and video file of the show if it was on the record makes it easy for anyone to launch a podcast.
To me, blab is more interactive and you can engage with your audience while they are watching your live recording of the podcast.
With that being said, I will continue to use BlogTalkRadio because they are making improvements on their platform and I really don’t have to do much editing of the show.
And I am looking forward to what 2016 has instore for my show and also to uplift people who listens to the show for the better.
So I am delighted to share the top ten episodes of What’s The Word? from 2015 (not in order of course):

Hard Work Will Always Pays Off For Better
By Cheval John
You put in the hard work towards your business in order to make it profitable.
You see other people achieve their success for the better with their business and wonder why I have not achieved the success yet.
In that instant, you get discouraged and strongly thinking about giving up on your business.
You go through the pity party and will not want to be cheered up by your closest friends.
You complain almost every time and have a crappy attitude about your business situation.
It seems that you are not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in which your finally see profits in your business.
The truth is even if you are not seeing the “splash” in success does not mean that you are not succeeding.
When a person keeps chipping away at solving people’s problems, they are slowly but surely will achieve their breakthrough for the better.
For the sports professional and I will use baseball, a batter goes through a slump at times.
It might seem that they are not making progress to break that slump.
They are working on their swinging mechanics everyday to be a better hitter.
Once they break that slump, their confidence in hitting the baseball returns and they are able to contribute to their team for the better.
I can say that I have achieved small wins everyday since starting my media company three years ago.
Though it is not in the same success to where I can run the business full time, I know that I am getting closer to being a full-time entrepreneur.
One of the small wins was my appearance on Conscious Millionaire podcast being a featured show for the entire day by J.V. Crum III because of the value that was brought to his podcast listeners on how to use Twitter to bring people to their website for the better.
I did not expect this honor of being a featured show because I was solely focused on over delivering valuable information to Mr. Crum III’s listeners.
It is one of those simple reminders that hard work will always pays off.
That is a lesson worth learning if you want to be successful for the better.
What’s The Word? show with guest Jackie Bernardi:

Blabbing Towards Success
By Cheval John
I recently had the opportunity to share about the live streaming platform called Blab on SEMRush’s blog.
SEMRush is an SEO and Analytics company that provide analytics reports and also competitive research on different companies.
I shared about how Blab has changed live streaming and also the do’s and don’ts’ when you are participating in a Blab chat.
I’ve been using Blab to record my podcast, “What’s The Word?” for almost a month and have an account with them for 66 days.
I can say that Blab is a game changer for podcasters and even for sports writers in a huge way.
Once they are finished with their blab shows, if that same episode was recorded, the blab team will send you the replay of your blab show in audio and video format.
This is an example of one of my episodes that was recorded with guest Kayla Chatkewicz of Smyelin Media, Inc on Blab.
Later, I uploaded the same interview with Ms. Chatkewicz for my podcast on BlogTalkRadio.
All I have to say is that Blab will be one of the most popular live streaming platforms in the future because they are making improvements to their platform everyday.
To see more about the dos and dont’s when you are participating in a live blab chat, you can check out the article here on SEMRush.
The Flexibility of An Online Business
By Cheval John
Soccer (as the world calls football) is one of the most unique sports ever created.
The sport is played in all of the 193 sovereign countries and all of the about 50 territories of the world.
Soccer’s success can attribute to a lot of tournaments that includes the FIFA’s World Cup and the UEFA Champions League.
For the athletes that plays soccer, it allows them to build a foundation that can set them and their families to break the poverty that the majority of them grew up in.
Another benefit that athletes have in playing soccer is the opportunity to travel the world.
They can interact with a new culture that is different than theirs and also improve their soccer skills that can benefit their respective national team.
In a lot of ways, creating an online business can allow you to work from anywhere in the world.
According to this 2014 Internet Retailer article, they are between 12- 24 million online businesses in the world today.
That makes it easy for a business owner to work from anywhere in the world and run their business.
And to add on the fact that social media has made it more manageable to interact with their prospective customers everyday, the business owner can succeed from any location in the world for the better.
Now if you have a business and you are not on social media, you are very invisible.
The reason being is that your potential customers are already on social media and are making their decision of whether to buy from a business or not based on what they see from their peers on social media.
Another reason why a business owner should be on social media is because half the world are on social media according this Fortune article.
Ahna Hendrix, who is the founder and CEO of Arch Digital Agency, was very smart in building her online presence while she was in college before creating her business.
Ahna shared with me on What’s The Word? about how her travels indirectly helped her to form her business and why many people should embrace social media.
She also chatted about her podcast, “Behind The Brand with Ahna,” which she records on the live streaming platform, Blab.
In conclusion, the internet has opened doors for anyone to run an online business and build strong friendships through social media.
If a person uses social media correctly, they can have a long lasting business that will allow them to travel and also make the world a better place.
